If you know any animal lovers, you know they get all sorts of animal trinkets as gifts. You know what I’m talking about, all those dolphin figurines and magnets. They’ve got more of them than they’ll ever know what to do with, and they’re probably pretty sick of them.

Trust me, they’re just being polite, they don’t really need another poster, candle holder, earrings, or whatever it is you’re looking at in the shape of their favorite critter.

But fear not, you can find plenty of eco-friendly gifts for animal lovers!

Below, I’ve got 4 ideas for gifts for animal lovers, ordered from lowest to highest price using the low-end of the price range indicated. Note that prices and availability may vary—last updated: October 17, 2020.

Currently, everything on this list is under $50!

You can shop by budget, or by tastes and preferences!

TL;DR

Conscious Step Socks ($15-45 USD)

Conscious Step is a company that makes, yes, socks. But that’s not all they do!

Conscious Step socks are made with vegan, fair-trade, and certified organic materials. So the socks are made sustainably.

And $1 from every purchase goes toward a cause, the cause varies by sock, from protecting oceans to stopping HIV.

Before shopping:

  • Do they wear socks? (I know people who really don’t, so it’s a fair question!)
  • You should probably also have a general awareness of their shoe size. The size options are basically small-medium, or medium-large.

Now, back to the socks. You can buy single pairs for $15 each, or a gift set of three for $45. The gift set comes in a nice, easy to wrap box. If you’ve ever tried wrapping sock before, you’ll see the benefit of that!

They do have more than one gift set, but I’m showing the Protect the Animals gift box below because, well, because we’re talking about gifts for animal lovers here!

The animal gift box includes protect the sharks, protect the elephants, and help the dogs socks. So it’s a pretty good mix.

You can also get socks that protect sloths, the rainforest (where lots of animals live), and more!

Cause Bracelets ($20)

4Ocean sells bracelets, and other products, that help keep the oceans clean and represent different marine life along the way. Like those dolphins we were just talking about.

Before shopping:

  • Do they have a favorite marine animal?
  • What is their favorite color?

For every purchase, 4Ocean pulls one pound of plastic from the ocean. Read more about how they do it in my 4Ocean Review.

The bracelets are made partially from recycled plastics pulled from the ocean too! You can get a beaded bracelet or a braided bracelet.

And they come in a variety of colors, representing all sorts of marine life.

They’ve even got a plankton bracelet! I have a sea otter beaded bracelet because I love otters of all kinds. And I just ordered the new octopus braided bracelet because I just love the color. It’s a beautiful orangey color and guess what my favorite color is … if you said orange, you’re right!

So this is a gift option you can keep going back to. If your favorite animal lover also loves bracelets, you can stack them up with a whole collection of fun colors, all representing different animals that are being helped by the cause. Who wouldn’t love that?

And you may have noticed that I did not title this section 4Ocean, that’s because there are other cause bracelet options out there. 4Ocean just happens to be one that I have researched thoroughly and choose to support.

If you know of any other great cause bracelets, put them in the comments below! But always beware and scope out the company because there’s a lot of greenwashing going on out there. Some companies just make some cheap, unethical junk and slap a name on it to sound like it’s helping something … not all of them are actually doing good in the world. 4Ocean is.

Animal Love Water Bottle ($25 USD)

Love bottles are high-quality, good-for-the-planet, glass water bottles. And they’re more glamorous than your average water bottle.

The bottles are made from recycled glass and other eco-friendly materials – no plastic in sight!

Before shopping:

  • How many water bottles do they have? Honestly, you only need so many.

This particular item is actually on my gift list this year because I recently lost my favorite water bottle and need a new one!

The Animal Love bottle collection offers four designs: Heron, Mermaid, Koi, and Whale.

The Love Bottle also comes in some Earth Love designs like mountains. Which is another way to connect to animals, if you want to be a little different!

Save the Bees Gift Set ($30)

This multi-purpose set includes a pot of organic, bee-safe honey, in a recycled-glass container, and a lotion bar, and lip balm made from sustainably harvested beeswax.

Before shopping:

  • Do they like honey?
  • Are they vegan? If they don’t use any animal products at all, even if it’s cruelty-free, they won’t want this set.

This set is described as a skincare set, which is true because honey makes a great moisturizer. But I don’t see any reason the honey pot couldn’t go in your kitchen either! I mean, you get to pick from three flavors, so it must be tasty!

This is a great gift for an animal lover who drinks tea or has dry skin, or just loves to pamper themself!
